Dix Coney Cafe

New in Gulf Gate in what was Opa! Opa! Greek restaurant is the new Dix Coney Cafe. Owners Moe Ajdini and cousin Val Maliqui and their family have been in the restaurant business since 1987. Coming from Albania in Eastern Europe, their family is all about food and they are passionate to make every meal home-cooked.
They decided to bring a ‘Taste of Detroit’ to Florida with an original Coney Island restaurant/cafe. With their secret recipes from over 30 years, they know coneys! A coney is a beef frankfurter in a natu- ral casing, nestled in a soft steamed bun. Greek immigrants passing through New York and its famed Coney Island, appropriated the Coney Island name for their coney dog version. History lesson is now over!
At Dix Coney Cafe they have transformed the previous restau- rant into a welcome cafe and a warm welcome greets everyone when arriving. Plenty of open space and a counter awaits you for a nourishing breakfast, lunch or dinner. I love that they do breakfast all day with a variety of selections including Eggs Benedict, Steak and Eggs, Gyros and Eggs and of course traditional eggs, Omelettes and Skillets. You can even create your own if you wish. Don’t forget the Waffles, Pancakes or Texas-style French Toast or even Moe’s Crepes!
