he would open the first barbe- cue restaurant there. And so he did. His first restaurant lead to a second and his second lead to a third, and now he’s about to open his fourth barbecue restaurant right here in Sarasota, Baby Paul’s BBQ.
Baby Paul’s BBQ
“I have been looking for the perfect spot for a couple of years but when Covid hit I put my plans on hold,” says Paul. When Nancy’s Bar-B-Q closed their downtown store, Paul realized now was his opportunity to fill the barbecue void Nancy had left. Baby Paul’s BBQ will be opening soon at 1987 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota (941 362 0664) a few steps from McCurdy‘s Comedy Club in what was recent- ly Healthy Cafe.
Baby Paul’s BBQ will be a down to earth, no-frills barbecue place and will stick with the basic barbecue menu of slow cooked, wood Smoked Brisket, Pork, Chicken and Ribs, along with the traditional side dishes that you would expect. “I decided to have a self-service operation, where my customers can come in and watch their barbecue be prepared right in front of them and seat themselves,” says Paul. “Of course if someone wants to have table service, I will provide that also.”
He is counting on serving the thousands of people who work in the courthouse center area with fast, efficient, and fairly priced barbecue lunches, which he will serve from 11am till 2pm Monday through Friday. He has plans to open for dinner on the weekends in the near future, serving his very special rib dinners with a fixed price. The
