A mainstay in the Southside Village for over 50 years is Morton’s Gourmet Market for catering, events and amazing foods and more
Morton’s has everything one might need for entertaining or hosting a fund raiser, including an impressive
array of fine wines and craft beers, exotic cheeses, and beautiful floral arrangements.
Local residents and visitors alike turn to Morton’s during any holidays for their bountiful and beautifully prepared gift baskets and the convenience of their complete dinner menus and fully prepared foods. Morton’s is also known for their award-winning catering department, which has handled events of all sizes with a full menu of party favorites as well as custom planning services.
A few years ago, Morton’s expanded its locations to include two storefronts on Siesta Key. Siesta Market is a smaller version of their
original store, with an island twist, and offers a variety of staple gro- ceries and fresh produce, meat and dairy. They stock a wide selection of beer and wine, as well as to-go prepared foods for easy picnics. Siesta Village Liquors is located next door to Siesta Market offering top shelf and name brand liquors, bar accessories and is the Village’s only full- service liquor store.
With family members continuing to join the team, the Morton family will always be an integral part of the Sarasota communi- ty. An important anniversary celebrated recently was the Firehouse Chili Cookoff hosted by Morton’s for the 21st year with proceeds benefiting the Sarasota Firefighters Benevolent Fund. The family established and maintains their Morton Culinary Education Fund which awards schol- arships to area students interested in pursuing a culinary career. Their two locations are 1924 S. Osprey Avenue, Sarasota (941-955-9856) and on Siesta Key at 206 Canal Road, (941-349-1474).

Avery smooth operation can be found at the Bonefish Grill at 7456 Cortez Road in Bradenton (941-795-8020). Serving lunch daily and dinner nightly, they do take reservations and are one of the best restaurants to honor reservations within a few minutes usually. I have never had to wait too long for a table, even at the busiest times. Very efficient! Enjoy their new outdoor dining area expansion with a covered corner of the building. They are also continuing with curbside service which has been very popular during these times. It is all very con- sistent here, a good sign for any restaurant, well done for them!
The smart bar features Hand Crafted happy hour drink dis- counts from 11AM to 6:30PM everyday. Foods
to enjoy for dinner include the Bang Bang Shrimp, Bang Bang Tacos and of course a terrific variety of seafood, meats, chicken and always daily specials including a Managing Partner’s Selection which is a local season fish new each week. Don't forget they also do a terrific lunch as well everyday with delicious food and drinks served. Do check out their web page for daily specials at www.bonefishgrill.com and be sure to make your reservations.
At Bonefish Grill, they show responsibility that extends outside their restaurants. It’s exciting to learn that they have partnered with The Nature Conservancy, a non-profit organization, to support its Plant a Million Corals Initiative in Florida and the Caribbean. The initiative seeks to restore one million corals across the region’s reefs, protecting one of the richest ecosystems in the world. We applaud this venture by all the Bonefish Grills. They also have a partnership with F.I.S.H. and Mote Marine as well. They were also awarded the “Best Service in Casual Dining”
