ment in this part of East Bradenton! In downtown Bradenton is the new Sweet Deli Café near Chateau 13. Owners NC and Frank have transformed what was Sugar Cubed into a welcoming store and are doing a great biz for downtown breakfast and lunch.
In San Marco Plaza across from Cassariana is the new Adolfo’s Italian Market & Pizzeria that just opened... In Lakewood Ranch the new Remy’s on Main is doing a good business while next door look for a big project ready to open this summer featuring Chef Angelo Difiore called Sofia’s (named after his daughter). The was the Viking Culinary store and most recently USF Culinary School. A 6,000 sq. ft. space that is being refurbished but keeping so much of what was left there. Looks pretty cool!... Across the street is the new Power Meals by Dawn offering paleo-diet meals to take-out or grab & go. Eat healthy people!
On the South Trail is the newly renovated Stix offering healthy Asia cuisine in a cool setting and they are doing well with take-out and delivery. Very busy...Florence & The Spice Boys will kick it up a notch soon at their new store in The Landings. From food truck to brick and mortar. Also here Origin Craft Beer & Pizza Café will take over what was Sophia’s Tuscan Grill (old Anthony’s Deli) with his fourth loca- tion. Congrats Rami Nehme. Crumbl Cookies next door should be open soon as well...Welcome Grandpa’s Schnitzel at 2700 Stickney Pt. Rd in Sarasota in the former Burritos Mexican Grill. Maik Bischoff is the owner and he will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with tra- ditional German cuisine. Blasé Café and 3.14 Pi has new ownership with Mike Quillen taking the helm here. Look for a re-do in this popular Siesta Key Village restaurant...Two Chef’s on Hillview feature Frank
Imbarlina and Melissa Louty as your chef’s for delicious take-out, including Frank’s Bootsy’s Pot Pies and Melissa’s baked goods. They are at 1960 Hillview Street...Jack’s Donuts just opened on the North Trail offering...well you guess it! Look for a few more of these to pop up around town as well...Closing include Baby Paul’s BBQ on Ringling, whew that was fast and Joey D’s near The Ritz-Carlton. Why? Not sure...3 Pepper Burrito called it a day as well, so did Fire Fresh Grill, another second floor casualty on lower Main Street..A fond arrivederci to Cafe Baci who served Sarasota well for over 30 years!!! Also sad to see that The Blue Rooster has closed. It was a great venue for live music and food over the years. Owner Bill Corneilius is selling and apparently it will be developed. That includes Station 400 as well...
The new hot area for dining and living is Waterside in Lakewood Ranch. Deep Lagoon Seafood & Oyster House will fill the final anchor restaurant opening in Waterside Place. The restaurant will have both inside and outside dining and bars and will offer lake views. The restaurant will open sometime in 2023. Also here is Tim's Wine Market, a family-owned business that will feature handcrafted, small productionwines. OtherrestaurantsopenforbusinessatWaterside Place include restaurants Kore and Good Liquid Brewing Company and Kilwins. Businesses that have signed leases and are on the way include restaurants Agave Bandido and Osteria 500, O&A Coffee Supply, CROP Juice, Duck Donuts, Forked at Waterside and Good Liquid Distillery. Waterside Place is overlooking Kingfisher Lake. It will include an 8-acre park, miles of nature trails, and water splash
