Dine al fresco at La Norma on Longboat Key. Here is their Allessandra, jumbo stuffed tortellini, so good!
Their pasta at both locations is freshly made, the varieties of
cheeses and olive oils are all imported, their vegetables are organic, the cuts of meat are all top-shelf, and their extensive wine list is mostly a tribute to Italian producers. They use the phrase, "Isola Bella and La Norma as the ultimate expression of what Italian food should be.”
As first-generation Italians, they have a passion for food and it shows as I can attest from a recent meal at both restaurants. Their goal is to offer you a good time through uncompromising, genuine Italian recipes. They only ask you to be a little patient while they make them fresh: some call it “slow food,” for them it is the only way to cook, with passion.
Also available here are catering, weddings and of course take- out and curb side pick-up. New, is delivery to your door for any dinner choices. Call for more information on these. Isola Bella and La Norma are open Monday through Saturday from 5 to 9pm. Enjoy them both!
There’s a new spot for Korean cuisine in Sarasota. K-Nam Korean BBQ & Sushi has opened in the Beneva Village Shoppes, by the corner of Clark and Beneva Roads. Soung-Ja Nam and husband Justin Nam, who have been in the food industry for eight years, most recently operating a popular food truck featuring Korean barbecue, are the owners of the new venture. “We wanted to expand our space and our menu, especially adding sushi,” said Soung-Ja Nam, whose husband Justin, is a native Korean.
The two converted a former sushi restaurant into an appeal- ing space with bold red walls, warm wood flooring, Asian screens and highglosstables, somewithgrillinsertsforcustomcooking. Thereare 50 seats, plus a sushi bar. The new restaurant offers Korean and Japanese food ranging from appetizers to desserts, plus beer, wines and sake. Among favored starters are bulgogi tacos and quesadillas, veg- etable tempura and tuna tataki. Popular Korean barbecue choices include bulgogi (marinated beef), galbi (short ribs) and pork selections. Customers also may opt for poke bowls, chicken or salmon teriyaki,
