every Thursday in the charming Village of the Arts at 1418 13th Street West, Bradenton (941-741-8646). Also happy anniversary as they cele- brate 15 years this year!
Their market is terrific, with an amazing selection of local fish delivered daily, Tripletail amongst others. Bob and Devon have a great con- nection for fresh seafood including Florida Stone Crabs, their case is full now though May 1st with this Florida delicacy. The lunch and dinner menu are the same, serving from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, closed on
Sunday. Daily features include Monday-Corvina, Taco Tuesday, Wednesday-Red Snapper, Tripletail Thursday, Friday-Hot Lobster Rolls and Saturday they are “Feeling Crabby” featuring Stone Crab, Dungeness Crab and gluten-free Maryland Style Crab Cakes.
While dining for lunch I had the Stone Crab
Soup and Tripletail sandwich, both were excellent. The menu includes fresh salads, New England style Clam Chowder, Lobster
Bisque and Devon’s Fisherman Stew. A variety of starters including Bob’s Baked Oysters and Devon’s Lump Crab Cake, Smoked Fish Spread, Ahi Tuna, Steamed Mussels, Clams or Shrimp; a welcome start to any dinner.
Not only do they sell quality seafood the prices are amazing as well. Dinnerplatesrun $24- $28. They have a very nice wine list along with beer and seltzers.
This small restaurant fills up
quickly for dinner and reservations are rec- ommended. There is limited outdoor seat- ing available also. Fresh Catch is a well run operation that has generated a fantastic and loyal following for one reason; they are great.

I write about quite a few family restaurants in Taste Dining & Travel, and one that stands out is the Provost Family who own the small and extremely successful Fresh
Catch Fish Market & Grill at
7119 south Tamiami Trail in
Sarasota (941) 413-7133.
Their dream of owning a
restaurant started while vaca-
tioning in Isla Mujeres, Mexico,
a small island off the coast of
Mexico. Father Bob and son
Devon became captivated by
all the fresh seafood available
directly from the fishing boats
to the coastal restaurants. This
led to the dream of opening
their market and restaurant
five years ago and voila, a
thriving business was born.
Bob’s wife Debra and Devon’s
wife Lauren join them on the
weekends for a true family
affair.
The Fresh Catch Fish Market & Grill continues to please diners with their amazing seafood selections for lunch and dinner
