Modern Chop Steakhouse is a welcome addition to this area’s dining scene with a sophisticated and
stylish restaurant from the same owners as the extremely popular and successful Sage Biscuit Cafés for partners Nicole Praessel, Joseph Moreta and José Moreta. Congratulations! Located next to Blake Hospital, Modern Chop’s dining room is stylish with clever LED lighting, stylish table settings, and a large bar with full liquor, featuring signature craft cock- tails and martinis, bottled beer, plus a very good variety of wines by the glass and bottle. They also have two fabulous private event rooms for special events and expanded out- door seating for those balmy nights.
The menu hosts a variety of steaks and other meats, including seafood, fresh local fish from Cortez Village, pastas and salads. Steaks are seared on their wood-fired grill to impart extra flavor and then finished in a 1600-degree broiler for a tasty crust. They are working with Master Purveyors in Tampa for all their steaks, (a seasonally changing variety of Prime, CHB, and Wagyu cuts). They source their produce locally as much as possible. A selection of gluten-free choices is available, and all their desserts are prepared in-house from scratch.
They are open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30am with terrific offerings throughout the afternoon. Daily specials include Martini Monday with all signature mar- tinis $7 (all day!), plus half price lite bites (in the lounge ONLY 4pm-6pm), Prime Rib every Tuesday (after 4pm) along with $3 Tacos and Margaritas (in the lounge ONLY after 4pm). Also Wine Down Wednesdays with all wines by the glass 50% off (all day!) and Thursday is their Live Maine Lobster Special (after 4pm) with Happy Hour in the lounge all night. Happy hour is also daily from 11:30am-6pm with great drink and food prices. Their private dining rooms are available for any event you wish. Give a call to inquire more.
