Introducing the traditional Hungarian pastry called kurtos cake, (also called chimney cake), to Sarasota was a truly rewarding experience as people welcomed her uniquely shaped and freshly baked pastry with the warmest reception. Soon she became a regular at local farmers markets around town, and also started taking private orders online, even shipping chimney cakes in the Continental US. Aniko was happy to mail her cakes to states such as California, Ohio, Colorado and Texas but she wished her out-of-state customers could also experi- ence eating the chimney cakes right out of the oven fresh and warm, just like everyone else here in Sarasota. So she decided to start the fran- chising process, which would enable people with passion for baking and an entrepreneurial spirit to join her successful team spreading the love of these delicious treats all over the US.
Soon the demand for delicious sweet & savory breads was so great, it was time to open her own shop. After finding a wonderful little storefront in downtown Sarasota, she was also able to extend the selec- tion & create a menu with a variety of breakfast & lunch items (such as Chimney Dog, Sandwich subs, breakfast paninis), party platters, pastry platters& ice-creamconesbesidesthetraditionalsweet&savorypas- tries.
