away service here. Their other Parrots do very well. The Mike and Mikes of Geckos have transformed the Landing events space into a restaurant now, due to COVID. Called Tripletail, it will be similar to their Dry Dock on LBK...In the same plaza the Sweet Tomatoes will become a Wing House and benvenuto to Anthony’s Italian Eatery & Deli here...C’est La Vie will be taking over what was Chutneys a few years ago on Hillview and they also pulled away from their Cooper Creek restaurant, mismanagement? and the owners have called their still French restaurant Mademoiselle.
At UTC look for
On St. Armands Circle 15 South is now Whiskey Barrel with an experienced family running the operation. Sounds promising with whiskey-infused foods and upstairs lounge still open and they moved the bar so it overlooks the Circle, great idea!
In Bradenton David Shiplett has opened his southern style restaurant called Cottonmouth in the Village of the Arts. Nice cottage and outdoor space with live music in what was Arts & Eats...Cremesh Bakery & Coffee will open soon near Blake Hospital on 59th Street. Same ownership as the Cremesh restaurant. This was McCallisters for many years. Scottish to Irish, blimey guv’ner...
In Gulf Gate changes as always. Fusion Gourmet Cafe has closed. Nice guy Sergio Razo tried...The group from Your Culinary Place is taking it over and has become a behemoth on the street...Brine Seafood at 2250 Gulf Gate is coming along and Seabar has opened as another restaurant from the Gulf Gate Food + Beer group. They took over what was Cannon’s Steakhouse. Looks great! Tortellino Bistro at 6554 Superior with Chef Leonardo cooking. Charming place...Freskia Pita open in Gulf Gate now while Cine Bistro at Westfield Siesta Key reopened, yay! On the South Trail Vostok has opened where Omelet and Co. was.
