Ophelia's on the Bay, located at 9105 Midnight Pass Road on the south end of Siesta Key, (941-349-2212), is Sarasota's finest water- front restaurant. Now into its 31st year as a Sarasota landmark! Many congratulations to the staff for their consistency over these years! Enjoy the closest views of Little Sarasota Bay framed by tropical vegetation, a water lily pond with a bronze fountain, and flower gardens. It is Florida the way it should be, without glitz, just a grand view of an unfettered sweep of water, mangroves, seabirds, and an occasional boat, manatee or dolphin gliding by. You may dine in one of two window-walled casually elegant dining rooms or out on the water’s edge open-air patio. The view is enough to take one’s breathe away!
Ophelia's on the Bay’s food has evolved over the years into a blend of cuisines and influences mixing new world with old, American with Asian, Italian with Floridian. Owner Chef Daniel Olson is constantly researching and creating new dishes for the menu which is printed nightly using the freshest local and exotic fish and produce available. Dan is enter- ing his 19th year running the culinary end of things at Ophelia’s including fresh product procurement and production, so things are as special as they have always been, only better! Also here is the newer decor and renovation with more to come as they will be extending the deck area even more soon. They were recently featured in Forbes Magazine as one of the Top 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in America as voted by OpenTable. Wow, a great honor and well-deserved!
Ophelia's is accessible by land, three miles south of the Stickney Point Bridge on Siesta Key. Dinner hours are 5 pm to 10 pm nightly. Their Happy Hour in the bar and lounge is from 5 to 6pm featuring their famous $6 martinis, $5 wines and $4 beers along with a variety of well- priced small plates to enjoy, plus offering a carefully chosen wine list to sat- isfy even the most sophisticated palate as well as full liquor service.

Their new location at 2245 Bee Ridge Road (941-882-4589) is open from 11 to 4PM Monday through Friday and 10 to2 on Saturday, so do make tracks for a visit to their charming new location.
Their key lime pie has been the choice of generations to cele- brate special occasions or events and be rest assured their recipe has not changed! It is still made by hand in small batches with the same recipe that was developed many years ago and voted the best by many local residents over the years.
