Remembering Arthur Lopes...
The widely respected Sarasota chef died recently after receiv- ing a cancer diagnosis earlier
thisyear. Awonderfulrestau- rateur and friend to so many in the area who truly loved the business. He was always cre- ative, knowledgeable and kind
to every- one he met. From his days at
Ophelia’s on the Bay to partnering with Ryan Boeve and having success wherever these two went with Zoria, Pomona Bistro and Wine Bar and recently Lila.
From the beginning, Boeve says, Lopes insisted on giving back, and he spent his time supporting the Bradenton Charter School Visible Men Academy, which concentrates on teaching at-risk elementary-age children, as well as Giving Hunger the Blues and other causes.
One of the good ones in our business...He will be missed and was loved by many... Neal Finelli
