A great connection for all of you restaurateurs out there is that owner James and Nick St. John are the sons of Sandy St. John of ALSCO who provides linen and uniform rental service to many area restaurants and hospitality businesses. Throughout the past the folks at Speed King Signs (941-722-7446) have dealt with multiple message board manufacturers. After finding things that they liked and disliked about all of them, they developed their own product that they have branded this year as SKLED. It has been field tested over the past four years with zero issues from any of their cus- tomers. From car wash facilities to schools, restau- rants, physicians and more, the reliability and connec- tivity have been excellent. Recently, they have installed one of the largest boards in Manatee County for the Bradenton Area Convention Center.
The SKLED boards can be controlled from any Android or iOS device. For more in depth pro- gramming, they use a Windows based software. Both are very user friendly. For someone who has never touched the software they can usually send slides with 15-30 minutes of training. The Windows based soft- ware can schedule your board down to the second. Therfore you can plan your whole month out instead of setting the boards daily.
Their LED modules are front accessible and have silicone coated circuitry. This means that it will be very rare to have to change a module (they have changed zero in four years even on their earlier uncoat- ed models), but if you do, a module can be changed in less than 60 seconds. Front accessible modules also mean that changing any hardware within the board is
