Hometown Desserts began in 2007 as a business that sup- plied cake for family and friends. The foundation, however, was laid 50 years ago when Owner Cindy Tutterow was born into a family of southern women who
loved to cook. As a child, Cindy spent many days standing in a chair, pushed up to the kitchen count- er, watching as her mother and grandmothers lov- ingly created delicious meals. In the summertime, Cindy, along with her mother, grandmother and sis- ters would sit around the kitchen table and peel peaches in preparation for canning or grate fresh coconuts to make homemade cakes. These are the special times that shaped the enjoyment she has for creating her own homemade treats today.
Over the years of Cindy’s dedicated and hard work, Hometown Desserts has grown into a thriving com- pany that provides delicious desserts to wholesale and retail customers in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. Great care is given to developing and perfect- ing each dessert – many of which started in a south- ern kitchen years ago. New restaurant clients include the Anna Maria Oyster Bar Group, The Beachside Hospitality Group Restaurants, Ocean Star, Gulf Drive Café and The General Store.
