New Restaurants
It just won’t stop! New restau- rants keep opening in our area at about two per week in Sarasota and Manatee counties! A good thing? We hope so as the variety of restaurants are
improving and many seemed to be well funded which will only con- tribute to their success. I always remember that line on how to make a million dollars in the restaurant business? “Give me two million and I’ll give you back one million!”
We wish them all success and continued good times for all our favorites out there, we do not forget you as we encourage all of our readers to support them as well. Thanks and best to all!

Co-owner Michael Garey, he and his partners decided to close The Lazy Lobster on Lockwood Ridge Road in Sarasota and re- open it as a Kacey's Seafood & More, a sister restaurant, whose origi- nal location on Fruitville Road has become very successful with a wide reaching, appealingmenu, viablelunchoptionsandneighborhood pricing.
Garey and partners, wife Catherine, Bob Fracalossy and his wife, Kay Kwenski, also own the Lazy Lobster on Longboat Key and are partners with the Alderson family at Tyler's Gourmet Ice Cream on LongboatKey."TheLazyLobsteronLongboatKeywillremainthe
same," added Garey. "The menu is still a great value and is ideal for island dining. Kacey's wide reaching menu, friendly staff, fast service and moderate prices are attractive in the other locations."
The partners have brightened up the new Kacey's, which accommodates 100 diners inside, with limited seating outside. The menu for lunch or dinner offers familiar items like the popular seafood baskets (shrimp, clam strips, crab cakes), fish and chips, lobster roll, and fresh fish with an array of sauce choices. In addition, there are cre- ative dishes like Tuna “Master Jessie", the Cod-Zilla Fish Sandwich, Shrimp Trio Dinner, Cajun Mahi Salad, Ahi Tuna with wasabi and sea- weed salad and Blackened Shrimp with a salsa-topped black bean cake, plus much more.
For landlubbers, there are favorites like a cheeseburger on a brioche bun, Cincinnati Chili, hot dogs and baby back ribs. Dessert choices of note include Key Lime Pie, Limoncello Cake and Pina Colada Cheesecake. Beer and wines are also available.
